General SC troubleshooting

Always replace the 3 disks in the SC for replacements.

Attempt replacement of PSUs in X3-SC2, see if this clears the disconnected state.

If no joy, deactivate X3-SC2 and then power if off and flea drain the BMC.

If still no joy, replace X3-SC2

“the system has 100-586-410 controllers because this is a n X2-R cluster”

Vendors sending us the wrong internals that don't match the tag

“there is an issue with X1 controllers with part number 100-586-025”

“we should always c heck an SC before trying to use it regardless of part number”

“this is an X2 and it uses scripts to do the DIMM replacement”

“clear the SEL”

“we also have BMC alerts for the 2 SCs showing partial fault status”

that is the content of showlocaldisks.out in the xmcli folder under XMS folder

we corrected the issue with X1-SC2

the reboot of BMC corrected the partial fault

X3-Sc2 is gonna need PSUs and or a power drain

If you ever receive an SC missing parts it should be sent back as DOA

I would recommend having 2 usbs prepped

one with SC image and one with a SUper TuX or rescue image so we can run memory tests on X4-SC2

should be have for the FRU/SDR utility as well?

No, we cannot program the FRU on an X2 like we can the X1

Ok and looks like it’s an iso so just use Rufus to rip onto a usb correct?

correct

Action plan is as follows:

Attempt replacement of PSUs in X3-SC2, see if this clears the disconnected state.

If no joy, deactivate X3-SC2 and then power if off and flea drain the BMC.

If still no joy, replace X3-SC2

X4-SC2 deactivate SC using replace-dimm-prepare script.

Once it is down, disconnect cables and type Done and press Enter.

Reconnect power only and KVM. Boot rescue iso (sent to chat)

Select Memtest option and allow it to complete a full pass. Replace any DIMMs called out and then rerun the memory test.

Once clean, power fof X4-sc2 and recable it.
Power up SC
Once at login prompt wait 5 full miutes and then run replace-dimm script to bring SC back into the cluster.

That is 2 x 2tb and 1 x 400 gb ssd for each sc

is there a specific XIO pn?

All i see is the generics: ST2000NX0253 & SSDSC2KG400G7M
