If the whole chassis has been replaced then we need to set the service tag as well as setting the midplane serial number.

Setting the service tag

Log into the system [[General Information - SVC30x0]]
Elevate privileges

shellaccess developer

Set the service tag for the replacement chassis and ssn for midplane

platform bmc fru set 2 service_tag <service tag number>

platform bmc fru set 2 ssn <top controller ssn>

platform bmc fru set 3 service_tag <service tag number>

platform bmc fru set 3 ssn <top controller ssn>

Check that the service tag and ssn have been updated

platform bmc fru display_all 2

platform bmc fru display_all 3

Reset both controllers, starting with the top controller first

-reset

Issue seen where a complete system reboot was needed to bring the system up correctly
