  • Inlines are issued to a specific director or slice
  • Director or slice is chosen by the user, by logging in (selecting it)

Utility Command Types
Uses
$ Global Provides information about the entire Symmetrix System. Issued from a specific director/slice or emulation, will display or execute on the entire Symmetrix box.
F0 Local Provides information relating to specific director/slice or emulation. Issued on a specific emulation, display and execution will only be local to emulation logged into.
BC Broadcast Issued on a specific director/slice or emulation and is broadcasted to all specific types of emulations. Ex. DA, FA, EF, or SE

A7 D Displays the Symmetrix Logical Volumes and their director locations for all devices Each Logical Volume can have up to 4 mirror positions, or 4 local copies
A7 D5 Displays the Symmetrix Logical Volumes and their director locations for all RAID types
A7 C Device invalid track counts or Physical Consistency (PHCO) tables for all RAID types
