Putty Connection

Connect
a standard network cable from your laptop to the Tech network port on the rear of the Storage
Controller

Configure your service laptop network port with the
following settings:

  • IP address - 169.254.254.2
  • Subnet - 255.255.255.0

Open putty and input the following ip address into
your connection:

169.254.254.1

Use the following username and password when prompted

Username - tech
Password - X10Tech!

NOTE: If you are on a system prior to v2.4 use 123456 as the password

Have to SSH in to connect through management ethernet port (this only applies to X1):
On the back of each controller is a Tech interface. Think of it like a console interface but over SSH. The Tech interface has a hardcoded IP address of 169.254.254.1/20 (255.255.240.0).
Connect your notebook to the Tech interface on Controller 1, the one on the bottom of the stack. Assign the IP of 169.254.254.2/20 to your NIC. SSH in to 169.254.154.1 and login as xinstall.
